I’ve lived in North Huntingdon for about three years now and somehow I have never photographed a session in downtown Irwin. I’ve been wanting to for a long time and when I found out I would be shooting the engagement of Robbie and Paulette I scoped it out and found some great locations to work with. We were hoping for the weather to be a bit warmer but they toughed it out and stood outside with me for over an hour in the 30 deg. cold! We were in and out of my car as we carted around to the different spots I had found and everything worked out really well. They will be getting married in Jamaica so I won’t have the pleasure of photographing the nuptials but I wish them both the best and a happy life together. Congratulations!

With the intentions of shooting in a more snowy North Shore I set out to photograph the engagement of Matt and Rachael a few weeks ago. When we arrived Saturday morning there wasn’t much left! But they both looked fantastic and with the city and various monuments as a backdrop the absence of snow went unnoticed. Their dog ‘Peanut’ was a welcome addition and we had a good time walking the shore and discussing their wedding day. Congratulations to you both!

It’s not fall you say!!?? Ya I’m just still behind on getting these beautiful people up on my blog! Meet Dustin & Kattreena. We lucked out with an awesome fall day when the leaves were ripe with color and i’m pretty sure two days after these these same trees were bare. So enjoy the colors, some mushy stuff and a really great couple. Congratulations!

That is an awesome sounding name for a suburb of Pittsburgh right? The Mexican War Streets. What, you didn’t know it existed? Me either! Lyndsay came to me with the location, I checked it out and quickly agreed. This place just had an awesome vibe to it and seemed so full of history I couldn’t wait to shoot there. Tom, Lyndsay and I met up on a fall day and walked around the colorful Mexican War Streets. They were dressed so well and it was offically my first session with a bow-tie! It was great!

Another great new shoot location! I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of features to use at the Winnie Palmer Nature Reserve for my engagement session with Megan & Nate. The sunset was just right and these two were so easy to work with. We walked around the park were able to find some awesome lighting and backdrops that gave a very romantic feel to the session. Congratulations to Megan & Nate!

A fellow photographer introduced me to Mellon Park in Squirrel Hill. It’s not a huge place but it is just packed with awesome features that make it perfect for photo sessions. My first one there was an engagement session with Jared and Amanda. I was so filled with ideas it was hard to pick a direction but we had a great time and came away with some memorable pictures. Congratulations you two!

I had no idea there were so many new features in and around the southside of Pittsburgh. Steph Ray and I walked from the Hot Metal Bridge down what I thought would be just a walkway up to the southside works. It was actually a walking/bike path with a lot of awesome little bits of Pittsburgh history. There was a small amphitheater and a lot of giant, old metal working machinery. It was really interesting and offered some unique images.

It was great to be able to explore the area with some awesome and adventurous clients. Congratulations to Steph & Ray.

This session ranks in my personal top five for location, light and temperature.  It was a perfect weekend here in Pittsburgh and when I met Tony, Tanya and little Anthony at Round Hill Park for their portrait session The sun was just starting to go down and the air felt lukewarm.  We walked around the farm area and up around the pasture stopping frequently at all the fantastic little locations and areas to take pictures.  It was a bit of a hybrid session because Tony and Tanya are engaged but they also wanted to include Anthony in the photos.  He is one cute kid. He added a bit of spontaneity to the shoot and was always good for a laugh and a candid picture!  I think the photos came out awesome and am looking forward to my next Round Hill session and to Tony & Tanya’s wedding.  Congratulations you two.

If you are interested in a portrait or engagement session feel free to give me a call or just fill out my contact form here and I’ll get back to you!
